What is waiting.
The season begins at the foot of the Brocken. The Harz in April is unpredictable: sunshine, hail and headwind can all turn up in a single lap. That is exactly what makes this race the classic of the series. The start is at Drei Annen Hohne station, where the narrow gauge steam railway runs past.

April weather in the Harz
Pack a rain jacket and long gloves. The high plateau is far colder than the valley.
